- Q. Where is Golden Gun Club located?
- A. Golden Gun Club is located in Watkins, Colorado (approx. 22 miles east of downtown Denver). Address and driving direction are here, and a regional map showing the club's location is here.
- Q. Is Golden Gun Club open to the public?
- A. No, Golden Gun Club is private club and membership is required to use the facilites. However, members may bring a guest with them when visiting the range. Also, monthly matches are open to the public.
- Q. I want to become a member of Golden Gun Club. How do I apply for membership?
- A. Golden Gun Club is a private club and offers two types of memberships: full membership and shotgun memberships. Full membership grants the member the access to our rifle/pistol range with no per use fee. It also grants use of the shotgun facilities for a per round fee. Shotgun memberships allow access to the shotgun facilities for a reduced per round fee. Shotgun members are not granted access to the rifle/pistol range.
To join Golden Gun Club, submit an application for membership, and you will be contacted before the next scheduled new member orientation. For more details on applying for membership, please see our Membership Information Page.
Shotgun memberships can be purchased at the clubhouse during normal business hours.
- Q. I'm a member of Golden Gun Club, can I bring guests or family members with me to the range?
- A. A member can bring up to two guests (including family members) with them to shoot on our rifle and pistol ranges. A fee of $5.00 per guest is charged. All guests (including family members) must check in and pay at the clubhouse. The member is responsible for the behavior and safety of their guests while at the range. Non-member guests must be accompanied by their host member while at the range. If the range is busy, the member and their guest(s) must share a single bench, so other members are not denied the use of their range.
Our shotgun range is open to the public and all guests are welcome.
- Q. I'm not a member of Golden Gun Club, can I shoot at your range?
- A. Our rifle/pistol ranges are private. However, a non-member can come as a guest of a member and shoot on either of our ranges. Non-member guests must be accompanied by their host member while at the range. A fee of $5.00 per guest is charged. All guests (including family members) must check in and pay at the clubhouse.
Our shotgun range is open to the public and all guests are welcome.
- Q. Do you rent firearms at your range?
- A. We have shotguns for rent to use on the Trap, Skeet and 5 Stand Ranges.
- Q. Are the matches at Golden Gun Club open to the public?
- A. Yes, anyone can compete in any of the shooting matches. There is a fee to participate, and members receive a discount on these fees. (See Programs for the various types of matches)
- Q. Are there any firearms that are banned from being shot at the range?
- A. Any firearm with a caliber above and including 50 BMG, and the .416 Barrett are banned from being shot at our range. This is for safety and liability reasons due to the range and power of these cartridges.
- Q. Is there any ammunition that is banned from being shot at the range?
- A. The shooting of tracer, incendiary, or explosive ammunition is prohibited on the range, due to fire hazard.
- Q. Can I shoot explosive, reactive or tannerite targets at the range?
- A. The shooting of tannerite, reactive, or explosive targets is prohibited on the range, due to fire hazard.
- Q. Do I have to be a member of the National Rifle Association (NRA) to be a member of Golden Gun Club?
- A. Yes, we are a 100% NRA membership club. All Golden Gun Club members must also be a member of the NRA.
- Q. Do I have to pay an initiation fee to become an Shotgun member of the Club?
- A. No, you only pay the yearly fee and enjoy a discount Trap, Skeet and 5 Stand rounds.
- Q. I'm a member and I've changed my address, who do I contact?
- A. Please contact the Membership Coordinator by phone or e-mail, with your information changes.
